Homeowners have been made available some pretty great energy tax credits this coming year. It's been a great time to make your home energy efficient, especially if you're doing with the addition of solar systems to your house. That's correct; you'll get a full 30% back of whatever you spend from the federal government - and it's an energy tax credit - not really a deduction, which means it comes off your financial well being. But, what about next 12 months? If you wait till after January 1, 2011 place in your solar panels will you get the same power tax credit?
Yes, as part of that government's energy bill, credits for your own solar panels, geothermal heating systems wind turbines and fuel cells are generally good until 2016. When announcing the bill, it was estimated this will create 440, 000 jobs, 28 gigawatts of solar power, and lead to some sort of $300 billion investment in solar technology.
So, you will have a few more years if you ever haven't yet contacted an expert about your new sun power panels.
However, the energy tax credit does run out this year for other green energy items. For example, it has not ended up announced that energy star appliances is going to be covered for 2011, nor have other credits that includes the $1500 cap, which include energy efficient windows, been extended now.
So, be sure to get moving on those energy efficient windows or even energy efficient appliances, like tankless water heaters, low water washing machines and energy star refrigerators. You may not be capable of claim those credits next year.
Talk to your representative about all the force efficiency improvements you plan to make in your home. They can help you with water heaters, electricity efficient windows, and, of course, those solar panels you would like for your home.
